Woodworking Workshop - Demanding Change
Hello to all HEAD students,
The woodworking workshop is one of the central spaces at HEAD, essential for completing many creative and academic projects. We recognize the challenges this workshop faces and are actively working with the administration to find constructive solutions. Over the past few months, we have noticed some operational difficulties, particularly due to staffing and organizational constraints.
To improve the situation, we have shared our concerns with the administration and proposed a few ideas, in a spirit of collaboration:
- Increased and sustained support: We hope that the woodworking workshop will have adequate staffing to continuously support students in their projects.
- Optimized appointment system: Adjusting the current system would help the workshop better meet students’ needs, especially during peak times.
- Additional resources: Expanding the staff could make the workshop more accessible and improve the experience for everyone.
The administration has responded positively to our suggestions and implemented some concrete measures: a temporary assistant has been hired, a new organization will be tested to manage peak periods better, and a long-term strengthening plan is underway to support the woodworking workshop sustainably.
These initiatives represent an important first step toward a collective improvement of our working environment. We will continue to work with the administration and encourage actions that make the woodworking workshop more accessible and functional for everyone. Together, we aim to make this space a collaborative place that fosters the success of our projects.
